True. But you also don't want to keep tempting people about a game if it isn't going to be released for a while *cough*Duke Nukem Forever*cough*.
You can announce something when you start working on it, but if you are constantly providing sneak peeks, screenshots, videos and interviews over a 3 or 4 year period, then by the time the game is out, everyone has pretty much already seen everything in the game and nothing is new when you are actually playing the game.
When the time is right, we will begin providing the same types of press coverage that Borderlands got when it was close to being released. We're working on completing things as soon as we can, so just try to be patient for a little while longer. "
